When classified by group of provinces, the following findings were observed:
• The highest number of MSMEs was recorded in Bangkok, with a total of 521,492, representing 16.36% of all MSMEs
across the country.
• The central region and its vicinity, comprising Nakhon Pathom, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, and Samut Prakan, had
a combined MSME count of 286,123, accounting for 8.98%.
• The group of provinces with the lowest number of MSMEs was the southern border provinces, totaling 68,205 cases.

In 2022, the number of newly established MSMEs was 76,305, while the total count of cancellations and liquidations
for the same year was 21,848.

MSME Employment Figures for 2022

Total MSME employment reached 12,828,236 individuals, constituting 70.99% of the overall workforce. This marked an
increase of 1.80% compared to the previous year. Specifically, there were 7,941,166 employed within juristic persons,
representing 61.90%, and 4,887,070 individuals in personal and other capacities, representing 38.11%.

MSME employment is most prominent within the service sector, with a total of 5,630,842 individuals, accounting for 43.89%
of the overall MSME workforce. This represents a 2.65% increase. The commercial sector follows, with 4,305,645 individuals,
constituting 33.56%, reflecting a growth of 2.74%. The manufacturing sector employs 2,811,157 individuals, representing
21.91%, showing a decrease of 1.44%. Additionally, in the agricultural sector (specifically for juristic persons), there were
80,592 individuals, marking a notable rise of 10.18% compared to the previous year.

When examining employment distribution by geographical classification, it was evident that the highest concentration of
employment was in Bangkok, with a total of 3,494,938 individuals, constituting 27.24% of the workforce. Following this, the
central and peripheral provinces, as well as the eastern region respectively.
